Librarian-Documentalists Assistants at the Internef Site

By the size of its collections, the Cantonal and University Library - Lausanne (BCUL) is one of the largest libraries in Switzerland. A public institution with a heritage, cultural and academic vocation, the Cantonal and University Library - Lausanne (BCUL) depends on the General Directorate of Culture (DGC).

The Internef site of the Cantonal and University Library - Lausanne (BCUL), located on the University of Lausanne campus, primarily serves the public of the Faculties of Law and Business and Economics (approximately 6,000 users). It offers 450 workspaces and 100,000 documents in open access.

You will ensure the reception, orientation and support of users at the Internef site in the use of legal and economic documentary resources. To strengthen our team, we are looking for rigorous professionals with a strong interest in librarianship, law and economic sciences.

25% position

• Participate in public services at the Internef site.

• Support users with general or specialised questions in law and economic sciences.

• Participate in projects upon request.

50% position

• Participate in public services at the Internef site.

• Support users with general or specialised questions in law and economic sciences.

• Collaborate in collection management.

• Ensure the upkeep of the BCUL Internef site.

• Manage the supplies and cash desk.

• Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC) as a documentary information officer or equivalent training.

• Three years of professional experience in a library or documentation centre.

• Proficiency in the ALMA lending module and discovery tool, as well as common office tools (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).

• English level B1 and German level A2-B1.

• General knowledge in law and economic sciences.

• Enjoyment, ease and courtesy in public contact.

• Precise, punctual and dynamic.
