Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional as Civil Engineering Site Manager for the realisation of demanding municipal and urban infrastructure projects. You will independently manage construction projects in general civil engineering, road construction and utility construction and be responsible for their operational handling during the execution phase. The focus is on quality, schedule and cost control, measurement and billing, as well as coordination of construction companies. You will work closely with project managers, clients and authorities to ensure professional and contractual execution.
Responsibilities:
Independent site management of civil engineering and infrastructure projects throughout the entire execution phase
Support of projects in road construction, utility construction and general municipal civil engineering
Monitoring construction execution regarding quality, deadlines, costs and contract compliance
Coordination and control of construction companies, utility owners and other project participants on site
Conducting and leading construction and coordination meetings including minute-taking and action item management
Checking measurements, extra work, contractor invoices and claims as well as supporting ongoing cost control
Monitoring construction programmes and execution deadlines and initiating appropriate measures in case of deviations
Reviewing completed work based on project, execution and utility plans
Leading technical and commercial negotiations with clients, authorities and construction companies
Ensuring execution according to SIA standards, VSS standards, NPK and project-specific requirements
Supporting acceptances, commissioning and defect rectifications and ensuring complete construction documentation
Supporting project management with cost forecasts, schedule control and technical project controlling
Qualifications:
Degree as Civil Engineer FH/ETH, Technician HF, Site Manager HFP or Construction Foreman or comparable qualification
Professional experience in site management in urban or municipal civil engineering
Solid knowledge in road, utility and general civil engineering
Experience in measurement, billing, claims management as well as cost and schedule control
Good knowledge of relevant SIA and VSS standards as well as NPK/CRB
Experience working with public clients, authorities, utility owners and construction companies
Very good German language skills spoken and written
