ROLE
The Operational Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality and compliance throughout the product lifecycle, from supplier qualification and industrialization to serial production and continuous improvement.
The role supports Operational Excellence initiatives by driving quality performance, managing supplier quality activities, and coordinating qualification batches for products, processes, and suppliers.
This position ensures that operational standards are consistently met, risks are proactively managed, and sustainable improvements are implemented to enhance efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor, analyze, and report operational quality KPIs and process performance indicators.
• Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and quality risks across operations and the supply chain.
• Review and approve qualification documentation, test reports, and release criteria for new or modified products and processes.
• Lead structured root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, etc.).
• Define, implement, and validate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing product defects, COPQ, and operational risks.
• Provide guidance and training on quality tools and best practices.
• Conduct supplier audits (qualification, requalification, and performance audits).
• Evaluate supplier capability to meet product quality requirements.
• Ensure timely resolution of non-conformities arising from operations, supplier audits, or qualification activities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, R&D, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to strengthen process reliability and product quality.
• Record inspection and control results in quality systems or control sheets.
• Ensure compliance of production processes with internal standards, customer requirements, and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Participate in internal and external audits; ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
PROFILE
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field – Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Operational Excellence, Supplier Quality, or related functions.
• Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
• Fluency in English, with French as a nice to have.
• Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (PFMEA, SPC, 8D, CAPA, Lean, Six Sigma).
• Experience conducting supplier audits and managing qualification activities.
• Good knowledge of SAP, Power BI, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Certified as an internal auditor
• Ability to travel for supplier audits (up to 15%).
