Chief Physician Medical Oncology

The Cantonal Hospitals Frauenfeld & Münsterlingen belong to Spital Thurgau AG (STGAG), one of the largest and most successful hospital groups in Switzerland.
Medical Oncology is part of the Internal Medicine department at Spital Thurgau and is managed across locations. It includes two lively outpatient clinics in Frauenfeld and Münsterlingen with a total of approximately 27,000 consultations annually and is closely involved in the care of inpatient oncology patients. The Thurgau Tumour Centre currently comprises seven DKG-certified organ centres, and the senior medical team covers all important sub-disciplines of oncology and haematology.

As part of the succession planning for the long-standing chief physician, we are seeking a leadership-experienced and future-oriented personality from July 2027 or by arrangement as

Chief Physician Medical Oncology

(with medical management of the Thurgau Tumour Centre)

You will take on

• Personnel, organisational and economic responsibility for Medical Oncology, Haematology and outpatient palliative care
• Active participation in the strategic and professional development of the department
• Medical management of the Thurgau Tumour Centre with significant involvement in certification processes and the strategic orientation of tumour patient care in the canton and region
• Ensuring a high quality level of oncological care in both outpatient and inpatient settings as well as a service-oriented and proactive collaboration with local primary care providers and specialists in the region.
• Representation of Medical Oncology in internal and external expert committees, towards official bodies and external partners, and strengthening interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration.
• Active and sustainable commitment to ensuring the training and continuing education mandate as an SIWF training centre Category B (possibly further development to WBS Category A).

You bring with you

• Specialist title in Medical Oncology, ideally with a focus on urogenital, gastrointestinal or thoracic oncology
• Habilitation as well as further training in leadership / business administration desired
• Several years of clinical professional and leadership experience in a senior role
• Proven leadership and social skills as well as a communicative, integrative, honest and responsible personality
• Strong team spirit, enjoyment of interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration as well as participation in company-wide strategic projects
