Lawyer (Criminal Law) 90%The Zurich Governor's Office is responsible as a decentralized cantonal administrative unit for numerous tasks in the Zurich district. The focus is on the prosecution of misdemeanors.
Following the retirement of the current position holder, we are looking for a female or male lawyer (90%) to join our Criminal Law department from July 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- independent handling of cases in the area of misdemeanors under the Criminal Code as well as ancillary criminal law
- assessment of reports, drafting of criminal decisions and dismissal orders
- preparation and conduct of interrogations as well as preparation of coercive measures
- conducting appeal procedures up to the second instance
- independent handling of cases related to weapon carrying permits and confiscations
- if suitable and interested, also independent handling of appeals in administrative law
Your profile
- completed law degree
- several years of professional experience (at least one year at a criminal prosecution authority)
- independent, efficient, and precise working style
- fluency in oral and written expression
- willingness and ability to engage and quickly familiarize yourself with the new subject matter
- friendly and confident demeanor as well as good manners
- absolute discretion, reliability, and ability to work in a team
