Social Worker / 80% / Fixed-term contract (8 months)
The social worker intervenes at the homes of IMAD clients and tenants of supervised housing for the elderly (hereafter IEPA), mainly of retirement age and requiring social assistance and/or administrative support. They participate in a public service mission aimed at ensuring people have access to the usual social services of the canton.
Your missions and responsibilities
- Identify, upon request from home care teams or IEPA, the nature of the client’s or tenant’s needs
- Manage the flow of requests and their activity with their hierarchy
- Assess the social situation and the primary and secondary networks of the client/tenant
- Develop a social intervention plan within legal limits in collaboration with the client/tenant
- Carry out actions arising from the social intervention plan
- Document the actions taken in the relevant client/tenant file
- Refer the person and/or their family carers to services adapted to their needs
- Participate in meetings related to the cases followed
- Collaborate and coordinate with other professionals in the institution according to the situation
- Work in collaboration with the socio-health network
Qualifications
- Bachelor in Social Work HETS or equivalent qualification
- Excellent knowledge of the Geneva socio-health network
- Ability to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team AND mobility within the Canton
- Analytical and negotiation skills
- Very good writing skills
- Very good adaptability to diverse audiences
- Experience with health issues related to ageing is desirable
- Ease in relating to elderly people
- Administrative rigour and organisational skills
- Good command of standard IT tools.
