In this role, you contribute to ensuring that the canton has the resources necessary to fulfil its tasks. You advocate for a sustainable and balanced financial budget and play a significant role in the task and financial plan as well as the annual report with the annual accounts. You assess financially relevant government transactions and develop financial policy and financial legal foundations. Additionally, you take on tasks in central participation management, cantonal accounting, and accounting and reporting systems including the IT systems used. Finally, you ensure central payment transactions and liquidity management.
Responsibilities:
You are responsible for central processes around financial planning, budgeting and annual reporting
You prepare well-founded financial evaluations, analyses and target group-appropriate reports for different stakeholders
You continuously develop central financial controlling as well as existing control and reporting instruments
You use modern BI, automation and AI solutions to optimise controlling processes
You take professional responsibility for applications in the area of financial and task planning and work closely with the responsible system managers
You coordinate cross-departmental expert committees and ensure the further development and uniform use of financial applications
You support internal departments with demanding questions around financial planning, reporting and controlling
Qualifications:
Completed studies in business administration, finance, controlling or a comparable field
Several years of professional experience in financial controlling in a larger organisation, ideally complemented by experience in the public sector
Solid experience with BI, reporting and planning systems, preferably SAP Analytics Cloud, as well as very good Excel skills
High affinity for digitalisation, automation and AI as well as pronounced analytical and conceptual skills
Very good German skills as well as an independent, structured, solution-oriented and assertive working style
