About the job
Specialist in Facility Maintenance / Caretaker (a)
100% | Hohenrain | immediate start or by arrangement
Your new workplace at HPZH is located in a versatile area with modern and historic buildings. You ensure that buildings, facilities and infrastructure function reliably and that children, young people and staff can move around in a safe and well-maintained environment. The historic buildings of the former Johanniter Commandery give your working day a very special character.
Your tasks
- You take over the maintenance and upkeep of the assigned old and historic buildings and independently carry out repairs on facilities, equipment and machines.
- You support the other specialists of the technical service during their absence or in case of increased workload
- When faced with technical challenges, you find practical and creative solutions and apply your craftsmanship even where the latest technology is not always used.
- You independently coordinate repairs by external specialist companies, supervise the work on site and ensure that the necessary work is carried out professionally.
- In addition to the buildings, driving services are also part of your responsibilities. You take on student transports to doctor and dentist appointments as well as material transports.
- For a safe and functioning operation, you also take care of winter services and events: you assist in preparing rooms, party furniture, drinks and signage and lend a hand wherever your support is needed.
Your profile
- You have completed training as a specialist in facility maintenance and ideally have further training as a caretaker with a federal certificate of competence.
- With your several years of professional experience and extensive practical knowledge, you can independently solve technical and craft tasks. You feel particularly confident in the areas of building services and safety.
- You are interested in historic buildings and their special requirements and ideally have experience in the maintenance of old buildings. You are open to trying unconventional solutions.
- You are characterised by an independent, proactive and reliable way of working. You see what needs to be done, tackle the tasks and keep an overview even when several issues arise simultaneously.
- You enjoy working with children and young people with linguistic or cognitive impairments and bring the necessary sensitivity for everyday educational work and different stakeholder groups. Good German language skills in speaking and writing, good IT user skills and a category B driving licence complete your profile.
