The Department of General Internal Medicine (DAIM) is a clinical competence centre at three clinic locations in Bern (Beau-Site Clinic, Salem Hospital, Permanence Clinic) covering the entire spectrum of the discipline of General Internal Medicine and interdisciplinary clinical emergency medicine. The DAIM is a Category A training centre for General Internal Medicine, Category IV for outpatient medicine, and SGNOR Category 2 for clinical emergency medicine.

YOUR TASKS

• You are responsible for the emergency or ward operations and care for patients interdisciplinarily – combined if desired
• You ensure efficient, patient-centred care and close collaboration between emergency, ward and specialist disciplines
• You participate in the medical on-call service – without mandatory night presence
• You lead, accompany and support assistant physicians and students in training and education

YOUR PROFILE

• Emergency Medicine: You are a specialist in General Internal Medicine or another specialty relevant to emergency medicine (e.g. surgery), or close to obtaining the title. You bring knowledge in interdisciplinary emergency medicine – ideally complemented by the additional qualification in clinical emergency medicine SGNOR – as well as experience in sonography
• Inpatient Internal Medicine: You hold a specialist title in General Internal Medicine, possibly complemented by another specialist title (e.g. Infectiology, Nephrology, Cardiology)
• You are interested in a broad spectrum of internal and interdisciplinary medical conditions and have experience in their diagnosis and therapy
• You are organised, a team player and strong in communication in interdisciplinary exchange
• You take responsibility towards patients, assistant physicians and the entire organisation and maintain an empathetic and confident approach
• We value your conflict resolution skills, sense of responsibility and resilience
