Clinical Specialist in the Cardiac Surgery Clinic 100%
Immediate start or by arrangement, limited to 6 months (maternity cover) with option for extension
Your main tasks
- Perform clinical-medical activities (writing ECGs, removing pacemaker electrodes, removing chest drains)
- Conduct daily ward rounds with clinical examination and documentation
- General care of patients on the cardiac surgery ward in close coordination with the medical staff
- Conduct patient and relative discussions to explain diagnosis(es) and treatment plan
- Organise patient transfers and referrals including rehabilitation registrations
- Write various reports (discharge reports, referral reports, transfer reports)
- Document admissions and discharges of the cardiac surgery ward
- Create medical orders (imaging diagnostics, individual examinations, consultations)
- Take medical history and status assessment on admission, conduct assessments
- Provide professional and administrative support to medical and non-medical staff of the cardiac surgery ward
- Participate in process changes (adjustment of directives, guideline updates, introduction of new processes)
- Review and complete consent documents (e.g. consent protocols, general consent)
- First-level support for patients and other stakeholders of the cardiac surgery ward
- Health promotion and prevention measures
- Assume coordination function within the interdisciplinary team
Your profile
- Basic training as a healthcare assistant and/or medical practice assistant
- Further training as a nursing specialist HF / FH
- CAS Clinical Specialist
- Experience in healthcare, preferably in the same or similar role
- Native German speaker, basic knowledge of English, French and/or Italian advantageous
- Good command of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Structured working style with high self-discipline and initiative
- Communicative, team-oriented personality
