Senior Consultant Gastroenterology

The University Hospital Bern (Inselspital) is one of the leading Swiss university hospitals with around 11,000 employees, over 850,000 outpatient consultations annually, and approximately 55,000 inpatient cases. In the University Clinic for Visceral Surgery and Medicine (UVCM), we offer a unique environment where gastroenterology, hepatology, and visceral surgery provide outpatient and inpatient tertiary visceral medical care within interdisciplinary structures. This includes, besides inpatient acute medical care, more than 10,000 endoscopic procedures per year covering the entire spectrum of diagnostic and interventional endoscopy, as well as over 5,000 outpatient contacts organised in specialised clinics annually.

What you bring

• Recognised specialist in gastroenterology (EU/EFTA/UK specialist titles are recognised in Switzerland)
• Doctorate as Dr. med.
• Academic interest in gastroenterology or one of its subfields, especially pancreatology and functional gastrointestinal disorders
• Desire for a long-term perspective and career development in university gastroenterology
• Interest in clinical, translational and/or basic research
