Job Description
As the Green Spaces Workshop Manager (M/F) within the Établissements de la plaine de l'Orbe (EPO), you support detainees in acquiring new technical, social, and professional skills.
In this role, you ensure the smooth running of green space maintenance work, masonry tasks, and road management, as well as compliance with instructions, deadlines, and procedures. You also participate in supervising and training detainees assigned to these activities, imparting the necessary skills and promoting their autonomy, professional development, and reintegration.

Responsibilities
- Train and supervise detainees in workshop activities (green space maintenance, masonry work, road management)
- Ensure the supervision, safety, and monitoring of detainees working in the workshop and maintain discipline;
- Prepare behaviour reports and regular assessments of the skills and progress of those supervised, and collaborate with professionals from various sectors (social, security, professional, etc.) to ensure appropriate care for detainees;
- Collaborate with professionals from different sectors of the establishment (social, security, professional) to ensure appropriate care for detainees.

Qualifications
You hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) in green spaces or an equivalent qualification.
You have a machine operator’s licence or commit to obtaining it during employment.
You hold the federal detention officer certificate or commit to obtaining it during employment.
Good mental and physical aptitude to manage sometimes difficult situations or conflicts while maintaining appropriate professional distance.
Comfortable with human contact, empathy, and strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage stress and strong powers of observation, analysis, and synthesis.
Good command of French and common IT tools.
Comfortable managing a group and able to motivate teams.
Our employment conditions require you to be Swiss or hold a C permit, be free of debt enforcement proceedings (an extract from the Debt Collection Office must be presented during the process), and have a clean criminal record. There is a right to consult the criminal record in accordance with the Federal Act on the Criminal Record by the hiring authority for this position.
