ICT Network Engineer (m/f/d)

Role:
In this role, you are responsible for the operation, further development and optimisation of the network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, WLAN, VPN) and ensure its availability, performance and security. You configure and operate network components such as routers, switches, firewalls and wireless systems and take care of monitoring, analysis and structured troubleshooting. You also implement and reliably operate network and security solutions such as firewalls, VPN or Azure Networking. You actively participate in IT projects, evaluate new technologies such as SD-WAN or Zero Trust, and maintain technical documentation and network overviews. You cooperate closely with internal IT teams and support incident and change management with your analytical and solution-oriented approach.
Responsibilities:
- You operate, further develop and optimise the network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, WLAN, VPN)
- In this role, you ensure the availability, performance and security of the networks
- As an IT System Engineer Network, you configure and operate network components (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless)
- You monitor the networks, analyse faults and resolve them through structured troubleshooting
- In this role, you implement and operate network and security solutions (e.g. firewalls, VPN, Azure Networking)
- As an IT System Engineer Network, you participate in IT projects, evaluate new technologies and maintain technical documentation and network overviews
Qualifications:
- You have a completed degree or training in computer science or IT or a comparable qualification
- You have several years of experience in network engineering in the areas of design, operation and troubleshooting
- You possess sound knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, VLAN, DNS/DHCP as well as network security
- You have experience with firewalls and SDWAN solutions, ideally with Palo Alto and Cato
- You are characterised by an analytical mindset as well as a structured, solution-oriented working style and work proactively in a team and service-oriented manner
- You have good German and English skills, both spoken and written
