IT Application Specialist (m/f/d)

Role:
In this role, you shape the stable and efficient operation of IT applications and ensure they run smoothly in daily business. You are responsible for analysing, handling, and coordinating disruptions and requests, identifying causes, and deriving sustainable solutions. You work closely with specialist departments and technical experts to gather requirements, plan changes, and carefully transition releases into operation. Additionally, you maintain technical and professional documentation, optimise existing processes, and actively contribute your experience to the continuous improvement of the application landscape. With your professional perspective, you always keep stability, security, and user-friendliness of the applications in focus.
Responsibilities:
- You take responsibility for the stable operation and further development of your specialist and operational applications
- In this role, you gather requirements, analyse and prioritise them, and manage changes, releases, and updates
- You ensure availability, performance, security, and data integrity of the applications you manage
- In this role, you analyse and coordinate incidents and problems and support the service desk in 1st and 2nd level support
- You monitor service levels, maintain application documentation as well as entries in the CMDB
- As IT application support in operations, you work closely with specialist departments, IT teams, and service providers and contribute to IT projects as well as maintenance, migrations, and training
Qualifications:
- You have completed training in the ICT field and further education at HF or FH level in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable discipline.
- You have several years of experience in application management, application support, or IT service management, ideally in a mission-critical environment.
- You bring solid knowledge of ITIL processes and have practical experience in incident, problem, change, and release management.
- You are very familiar with modern Microsoft technologies (Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure) and understand complex application and system landscapes.
- You work analytically, structured, and solution-oriented, gladly take responsibility, and convince with high service orientation as well as communication and assertiveness skills.
- You have very good German language skills in spoken and written form; ITIL Foundation, project management knowledge, and support experience are a plus.
