A versatile position in the field of Database Administration and Cloud Operations offers the opportunity to actively operate and further develop modern database environments. We are looking for a technically interested person with Linux experience and initial knowledge of PostgreSQL.
Besides stable operation, the focus is on performance, security, backup and recovery, as well as the technical further development of the database landscape. Close collaboration with software development and IT operations makes the position particularly varied.
Responsibilities:
Support and further development of PostgreSQL database environments including installation and configuration
Analysis of database metrics and optimisation of SQL queries and system performance
Implementation and verification of backup, restore and disaster recovery processes
Administration of database access and implementation of security requirements
Support with migrations, version changes and the introduction of cloud-based database solutions
Troubleshooting during ongoing operations as well as technical documentation and collaboration with development teams
Qualifications:
Initial experience in PostgreSQL database administration
Interest in CloudSQL as well as modern cloud and database technologies
Solid Linux knowledge and practical experience in IT operations
Analytical thinking and ability to independently and solution-orientedly handle technical problems
Willingness to continuously familiarise yourself with new technologies and topics
Very good German skills in spoken and written form as well as good English skills
