In this responsible position, you assume specialist medical responsibility for diagnosis and treatment in a socially psychiatric, generally oriented outpatient setting with a focus on geriatric psychiatry and assess psychiatric, somatic, and psychosocial issues holistically. You plan, manage, and evaluate individual treatment concepts and support older people with the aim of maintaining their independence and quality of life for as long as possible. In addition, you work closely with relatives, general practitioners, specialists, institutions, and authorities and actively help shape modern geriatric psychiatric treatment offerings. Furthermore, you promote interprofessional collaboration and high treatment quality and are involved in the training of assistant physicians, assistant psychologists, and medical students. You bring a specialist medical title in psychiatry and psychotherapy (or are close to obtaining it), ideally a subspecialty in geriatric psychiatry and geriatric psychotherapy, MEBEKO recognition, very good German skills (at least C1), and enthusiasm for outpatient care, networked collaboration, and professional development.

- In this role, you work closely with relatives, general practitioners, specialists, institutions, and authorities
- As Senior Physician / Consultant, you are involved in the training of assistant physicians, assistant psychologists, and medical students at the University of Basel
Qualifications:
- You hold a specialist medical title in psychiatry and psychotherapy or are close to completing it.
- You possess or are interested in acquiring the subspecialty in geriatric psychiatry and geriatric psychotherapy.
- You enjoy outpatient care of older people and resource-oriented treatment.
- You work independently, responsibly, and in a structured manner.
- You demonstrate high social competence and a respectful approach to patients and relatives.
- You have recognised MEBEKO accreditation and very good German language skills in spoken and written form (at least level C1).
