What we offer you.
The "Expansion and Renewal Projects" department is responsible for all construction projects of the SBB Infrastructure division, concerning the expansion, modernisation and renewal of the SBB railway infrastructure. Around 1800 employees work every day to implement the required specifications in over 2000 construction projects. In the "Engineering" business unit, key competences in project management, procurement, contract and stakeholder management are combined with specialist expertise in track, traction current, cables, railway access and technical systems (design and execution), as well as geomatics, sustainability & environment and data management (competence centre). The "Geomatics" specialist area within "Engineering" is responsible for the key topics of track layout and surveys. This involves, on the one hand, rule-compliant design of all track and turnout installations considering financial requirements, and on the other hand, acquisition, commissioning and supervision of measurement and monitoring services within projects. In the context of Building Information Modelling (BIM), "geomatics" plays a central role in recording existing data. The specialist area is also responsible for updating and managing the classification system in the "Databack of Fixed Installations (DfA)" (railway network, track network, fixed points) and the quality of the track assurance network. Put your talent to use in a motivated and ambitious management team of "Engineering" and contribute directly to the development of Switzerland's transport infrastructure, with a particular focus on the use of innovative technologies and benefits for customers.
What you can get moving.
- Within Infrastructure, in the "Engineering" business unit, you lead the "Geomatics" specialist area (around 50 employees). Together with your management team, you will further develop the specialist area in a future-oriented manner.
- Your main activities include the direct leadership and coaching of 4 team leaders and an expert at the locations Renens, Olten, Zurich-Altstetten and Bellinzona.
- You ensure the specialist area’s performance in terms of resources and competences and are responsible for the safe, cost-compliant, timely and quality-compliant design and implementation of all expansion and renewal projects in the "Geomatics" specialist area.
- Thanks to digitalisation, harmonisation and standardisation of collaboration with internal and external partners, you can actively contribute to the efficient execution of projects.
- You are responsible for the "Geomatics" specialist management, represent the interests of SBB and the specialist area, and are the contact person for internal and external stakeholders.
- As a member of the "Engineering" management team, you provide advice and support in terms of content and processes on strategic and conceptual issues, as well as for the sustainable, cultural and digital development of the entire business unit.
What you bring with you.
- Thanks to your quick grasp of complex issues and solution-oriented nature, you quickly familiarise yourself with new subject areas.
- You have excellent stakeholder management and communicate convincingly, flexibly and on equal terms at all hierarchical levels. Thanks to your winning behaviour, you manage to convince even the most critical minds.
- As an experienced leader, you inspire people and teams. You also have several years of experience in railway infrastructure construction and/or building as well as in managing complex projects.
- A degree in a technical field is required. In addition, you have completed further training in business administration.
