Software Engineer – Python & Industrial Systems at 80-100%

Since 2007, Asyril has been developing and marketing innovative flexible feeding systems for industrial automation. Our products combine software, vision, electronics and mechatronics and are used in automated installations worldwide.

For our Product Development team in Villaz-St-Pierre, we are looking for a

• Join a multidisciplinary development team working on the next generations of Asyril products!
• Initially, you will contribute to the development of the embedded software for our new generation of flexible feeders, particularly around Python and embedded Linux.
• You will then participate in the development of our next-generation controller, including system orchestration, communication between components, interfaces with industrial networks and industrial vision.
• At Asyril, software does not remain behind a browser or in the cloud: you will be able to deploy your code on the products, connect systems to electronics, cameras and robots, then test their behaviour directly in our laboratory.

What you will do:

• develop features mainly in Python
• design and maintain services to orchestrate and enable communication between different components of an industrial system
• write unit tests with pytest and participate in code reviews
• work daily with Linux and GitLab
• integrate and test your software on physical systems • analyse issues at the interface between software, operating system, network and hardware
• collaborate with other developers as well as specialists in electronics, mechanics, vision, QA and Product Management
• contribute to product documentation and quality

Your profile - Ideally, we imagine someone who:

• holds a Bachelor, Master or equivalent degree in computer science, software engineering, embedded systems, microtechnology or a related field
• has several years of professional experience in software development, typically 5 years or more
• possesses strong skills in Python development
• contributes to the continuous improvement of our development practices, tools and code quality
• is comfortable in a Linux environment
• has a good level of French and English

Experience or interest in one or more of these areas would be an asset: (Although we do not expect someone to master all these technologies, it is a plus to highlight!)

• Embedded software: modern C++, embedded Linux, Yocto, Docker
• Communication & industrial networks: CAN-FD, fieldbus, gRPC • Hardware & industrial technologies: electronics, hardware debugging, industrial vision
• Complementary software skills: product cybersecurity, Vue.js / TypeScript or other frontend technologies
