Mechanical Design Engineer
Manpower is recruiting, under an exclusive mandate for its client MATISA, a Mechanical Design Engineer - Site Mechanisation.
In a context of innovation and exploration of new markets, our client is strengthening its design teams to support the development of solutions aimed at transforming intervention methods on railway infrastructures.
This newly created position responds to a clear ambition: to identify the mechanisation opportunities of tomorrow and to imagine machines capable of meeting the operational challenges of future sites.
This role is intended for a curious engineer, with a genuine field sensitivity, wishing to evolve beyond the traditional design office.
You will be required to understand user issues, observe sites, engage with clients and transform these observations into innovative concepts and concrete development projects.
Your role is to understand current working methods, identify their limits and anticipate the necessary evolutions to improve performance, safety and operational efficiency.
To do this, you meet users, observe field practices and participate in defining new generations of machines, features or specialised equipment.
Your exchanges with operators, railway companies and users allow you to understand their operational constraints, identify expressed needs but also those yet to be formalised.
You analyse this information to transform it into technical and functional requirements usable by engineering teams.
In this approach, you participate in evaluating new development opportunities and contribute to defining innovative concepts addressing current and future challenges of railway sites.
You also take part in mechanical design activities, from preliminary studies to the development of selected solutions.
You participate in drafting technical documents, monitoring developments, reviewing studies and coordinating with the various teams involved in projects.
Finally, you help represent the company during site visits and occasionally participate in discussions related to the evolution of practices and sector standards.
Knowledge of the railway sector is a valued asset, though not essential.
Beyond your technical skills, you enjoy contact with users and field environments.
You are able to quickly understand operational issues, synthesise them and translate them into realistic and innovative technical solutions.
You are recognised for your intellectual curiosity, analytical ability and interpersonal ease.
New situations stimulate you and you enjoy exploring still little-structured subjects to bring out development opportunities.
Proficiency in French, English and German is sought to work effectively in an international context and collaborate with diverse interlocutors.
You will have the opportunity to work on emerging topics and directly participate in reflection on future mechanisation technologies and methods.
You will evolve in an environment where ideas can quickly become concrete projects and where interactions with clients and end users allow you to directly measure the impact of developments made.
This role also offers real prospects for advancement, notably towards increased responsibilities in project management or in developing new activities.
