Apprentice Automotive Mechatronics Technician with a focus on Commercial Vehicles

What do a bus and a train need to move? Electricity, hydrogen, or fuel, certainly. But above all, they need you and the other 1,500 TPF employees!

Your apprenticeship at TPF is the perfect opportunity to discover the behind-the-scenes of public transport. During your 4-year course, you will have the chance to explore the various activities of an automotive mechatronics technician (inspection, maintenance, problem identification, repair on different types of heavy vehicles) and you will also contribute to the mobility of millions of passengers every year across the entire TPF network.

Throughout your training, you will work 3 to 4 days a week and attend professional courses 1 or 2 days a week. Inter-company courses in the form of modules lasting 1 to 2 weeks will take place each year.

Your profession will mainly be practised indoors, in a maintenance workshop, but sometimes outdoors during breakdowns. Generally, your working hours will be regular. We will provide you with a category C driving licence and you will discover future technologies such as electric and gas vehicles.

• You will have completed your compulsory schooling by August 2027
• You have a strong interest in the automotive sector (especially heavy vehicles), mechanics, electricity and electronics
• You enjoy manual work and have good analytical skills
• You have completed several internships in the field
• You feel comfortable with technical subjects, especially mathematics
• You have passed the automotive aptitude test organised by the UPSA

Do these tasks inspire you?

• You carry out inspection, maintenance, repair and diagnostic work on all types of vehicles (mainly buses)
• You replace defective or worn mechanical parts and electrical or electronic components
• You search for and diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic faults and malfunctions using computer tools
• You perform pre-inspection checks
• You programme various electronic control units
