Your path into general practice – structured, versatile and practical
You want to work as a general practitioner later and are looking for training that specifically prepares you for this? With the General Practitioner Curriculum at the Cantonal Hospital Winterthur, we offer you a structured training path with coordinated rotations and a practice assistantship.
You will benefit from broad clinical training, gain planning security for your next years of training and will be personally supported throughout the curriculum.
Who we are
Your tasks
- As part of the General Practitioner Curriculum, you will complete various training stations specifically aimed at later general practice work.
- You will start on the Inpatient General Internal Medicine ward for 12 months
- Then you will rotate to Emergency Medicine (max. 90% workload) for 6 months
- Afterwards, you will spend 6 months in Orthopaedics and Traumatology
- Finally, you will be scheduled for six months in Acute Geriatrics
- This is followed by a practice assistantship in a general practice in the region for 6-18 months
- You will experience coordinated rotations that provide you with a broad spectrum of skills needed for your future work in primary care. Your profile
- Swiss medical diploma or EU medical diploma (MEBEKO recognition required)
- At least 2 years of experience, including 12 months in inpatient General Internal Medicine
- Career goal as a general practitioner (FMH General Internal Medicine)
- Interest in long-term networking with the healthcare system of the Winterthur region
