Team Leader Structural Engineering (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced leader for the team leadership in structural engineering with simultaneous responsibility for demanding structural projects. You will lead a team of around eight civil engineers and draftsmen/designers and be responsible for projects in residential, industrial and commercial construction. The focus is on structural planning, project management, BIM/BIM2Field as well as technical, scheduling and financial project control. Additionally, you will take responsibility for quotations, tenders and client relationships and further develop the department together with your team.

Responsibilities:

• Technical and personnel leadership of a team of around eight civil engineers and draftsmen/designers

• Management of demanding projects in structural engineering for residential, industrial and commercial buildings

• Development and review of structural concepts as well as technical responsibility for static and structural solutions

• Project control regarding quality, costs, deadlines and resources as well as ensuring economical project execution

• Technical leadership and quality assurance of structural planning and dimensioning within the project team

• Use and further development of modern planning methods such as BIM and BIM2Field

• Responsibility for resource and capacity planning as well as coordination of tasks within the team

• Preparation and processing of quotations, fee proposals and tenders for engineering services

• Support and advice for clients, architects, specialist planners and other project partners

• Building, maintaining and further developing client relationships and business contacts in the Zurich area

• Ensuring planning in accordance with relevant SIA standards and Swiss building regulations

• Participation in the technical and economic development of the structural engineering department

Qualifications:

• Completed studies as a civil engineer ETH/FH/university with solid specialisation in structural engineering and structural planning

• Many years of professional experience in structural engineering as well as several years of experience in managing demanding structural projects

• Experience in technical and/or personnel leadership of engineering and design teams as well as in resource and project management

• Sound knowledge of Swiss SIA standards, construction processes and building culture as well as experience with BIM/BIM2Field, quotations and tenders

• Good German language skills, spoken and written
