Senior Java Software Engineer (m/f/d)

- You develop complex, modern JavaEE applications in the environment of the contract core system
- In this role, you support your team in developing architecture-compliant solutions, evaluate new approaches prototypically, and conduct code reviews
- As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you build automated tests to ensure the high quality of the applications
- You take responsibility in the DevOps and Scrum team for the entire lifecycle of the applications from conception to operation
- In this role, you consistently apply modern software engineering practices such as Clean Code, Clean Architecture, TDD, BDD, and DDD
- As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you engage in the Agile Release Train according to SAFe and continuously deepen your understanding of the insurance domain
Qualifications:
- You have a computer science education or a degree in software development, regardless of a classical or unconventional career path
- You have at least 5 years of experience in agile software development with current Java technologies in the JEE environment and are familiar with several of the mentioned technologies or products such as Java, JEE, Quarkus, SQL databases, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and Cucumber
- You have solid experience in building and operating native cloud solutions and are confident in modern DevOps environments
- You enjoy delving into new professional topics, especially in the context of the insurance industry, and understanding complex relationships
- You bring experience in refactoring complex legacy applications and know how to further develop existing systems
- You place great value on high software quality and write thoughtful, clean, and sustainable code
