Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional as Project Manager Structural Engineering / Structural Civil Engineering for technically and architecturally demanding building projects. You develop economical and innovative structural concepts and work on projects with different construction types such as concrete construction, steel construction, timber construction and hybrid construction as well as associated specialist deep foundation works. From static-structural design through tendering to construction supervision, you take comprehensive technical and organisational responsibility. The position combines demanding structural engineering and project management with leading interdisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities:
Project management of demanding structural and building projects from concept phase to realisation
Development and optimisation of technically and economically convincing structural concepts in collaboration with architecture and specialist planning
Planning and dimensioning of structures in reinforced concrete, steel, timber and hybrid construction
Execution and technical control of static calculations, dimensioning and structural verifications
Handling complex structural interfaces and integration of foundations, excavations and specialist deep foundation into structural planning
Preparation and coordination of preliminary, construction and execution projects including structural detail development
Preparation of tender and bidding documents as well as technical support of awarding processes
Coordination of architects, specialist planners, clients, structural engineers and contractors
Technical supervision of construction execution including site inspections, technical clarifications and assessment of execution changes
Responsibility for project management, schedules, costs and quality within the supervised engineering projects
Technical leadership and coordination of project teams consisting of civil engineers and structural engineers
Participation in the further development of digital and technological methods in structural modelling, FEM and BIM
Qualifications:
Completed university degree as Civil Engineer FH/ETH, BSc or MSc with a focus on structural civil engineering
Several years of professional experience in structural engineering or structural civil engineering; project management experience is an advantage
Sound static-structural knowledge in reinforced concrete, steel, timber and/or hybrid construction
Very good knowledge in statics, structural modelling, dimensioning and structural detailing
Sound knowledge of relevant SIA standards as well as experience with common FEM, statics and BIM software
Experience in the technical coordination of interdisciplinary planning teams and ideally in leading project teams
Fluent German skills; French and/or English skills are an advantage
