Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced leader to head the construction management in a public and demanding real estate environment. You will take on the personnel, financial and professional responsibility for a team of eight employees and manage complex new build, renovation and investment projects across all project phases. The focus is on professional client representation, project and contract controlling as well as legally compliant public procurement and tendering procedures. At the same time, you actively shape standards and processes and make a significant contribution to the long-term development of the public real estate portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Personnel, professional and financial leadership of the construction management department with eight employees as well as responsibility for its strategic and operational development
Overall responsibility for demanding new build projects and complete renovations from project definition through planning and tendering to realisation and handover
Assuming professional client representation and managing external architects, specialist planners, general and total contractors as well as other project partners
Ensuring effective project, cost, schedule, quality and contract controlling across the entire project portfolio
Responsibility for legally compliant, economical and transparent public procurement and tendering procedures in accordance with applicable legal requirements
Managing competitions, study commissions and planner selection procedures as well as accompanying the resulting planning processes
Further development and standardisation of processes, project management tools, quality requirements and controlling structures in construction management
Preparation of well-founded project, credit and decision proposals for political and administrative decision-making bodies
Responsibility for medium- and long-term investment planning, prioritisation of construction projects and management of available investment funds
Ensuring compliance with relevant SIA standards, building regulations, contract bases and quality standards
Conducting and accompanying contract and tender negotiations as well as professional management of cost, schedule and project risks
Qualifications:
University degree FH/ETH/University in architecture, civil engineering or a comparable construction-related discipline
Several years of leadership and professional experience in client representation and management of complex building and renovation projects
Sound knowledge in planning, tendering, awarding, realisation and project controlling
Very good knowledge of public procurement as well as relevant legal and tendering framework conditions
Sound knowledge of relevant SIA standards, contract bases as well as cost, schedule and quality control
Experience in investment planning, budgeting and financial management of a larger construction project portfolio
Very good German language skills as well as experience in preparing precise project, credit and decision documentation
