Senior IT Project Manager

Main responsibilities

• Manage complex IT projects in the Banking & Payments sector, overseeing the entire life cycle, from planning to delivery.

• Coordinate implementation and evolution projects of payment systems, with particular reference to SEPA, SIC Instant Payments, SWIFT and ISO 20022 standards.

• Plan and supervise Cutover Management, Release Management and Production Deployment activities.

• Coordinate technical, functional and business teams, ensuring effective collaboration among the different areas involved.

• Manage relationships with clients, suppliers and stakeholders, ensuring constant alignment on project objectives.

• Monitor progress, budget, timing, risks and critical issues, defining any corrective actions.

• Supervise testing, validation and preparation of production environments.

• Participate in digital transformation programmes, application migration and modernisation of IT infrastructures, including Cloud environments.

• Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements and operational procedures.

Required qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or technical-scientific disciplines.

• At least 10 years of experience in IT project management, preferably in the banking and financial sector.

• Solid knowledge of banking payment processes and platforms.

• Experience with SEPA, Instant Payments, SWIFT and ISO 20022 projects.

• Consolidated skills in Cutover Management, Release Management and production release management.

• Experience in coordinating international and multidisciplinary teams.

• Ability to manage budgets, suppliers, contracts and stakeholder relationships.

• Knowledge of Project Management methodologies and tools, such as JIRA and Confluence.

• Good command of the English language, at least B2 level.

Technical skills

Particularly relevant elements include:

• Banking & Payments: SEPA, SIC, ISO 20022, SWIFT, Avaloq.

• Project & Delivery Management: Cutover, Release Management, Deployment and Testing Coordination.

• Tools: JIRA, Confluence, HPSM.

• Knowledge of application architectures, databases and enterprise environments.

• Familiarity with Java, PL/SQL, Oracle, SQL Server and Unix/Linux environments.
