At the Aargau Cantonal Police , we are committed to the safety of nearly 740,000 residents in the canton of Aargau.
112, 117, 118 or 144: Anyone in Aargau who dials one of these four emergency numbers cannot misdial. Whether people in emergencies need help from the police, fire brigade or rescue services – emergency calls are received at the Cantonal Emergency Call Centre (KNZ). Specialists from the Cantonal Police and rescue services are on the line around the clock. Supported by the latest technology, they decide on deployments and measures within seconds, coordinate the involved blue-light organisations and monitor an incident until its conclusion. All this without time loss that could endanger lives in the worst case. The KNZ handled around 220,000 emergency calls in 2025, averaging more than 600 per day.
