Role:
On behalf of a client, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager Environmental / Contaminated Sites for the independent handling of demanding environmental projects. You will accompany projects concerning contaminated sites, polluted locations, waste, and soil from investigation and planning through execution to evaluation and reporting. A focus lies on historical and technical contaminated site investigations as well as the waste law-related support of demolition, construction, and transformation projects. The role combines environmental sciences and geology with project management, fieldwork, authority coordination, and project controlling.
Responsibilities:
Independent management and handling of projects in the areas of contaminated sites, waste, and soil protection
Planning, execution, and evaluation of historical and technical contaminated site investigations
Investigation and assessment of polluted locations according to Swiss contaminated sites legislation
Planning and support of sampling, probing, and pollutant investigations in soil and subsoil
Implementation of waste law-related construction supervision for demolition, remediation, and transformation projects
Development of disposal, excavation, and material management concepts according to VVEA
Preparation of soil reports as well as assessment of chemical and physical soil contamination
Technical support of contaminated site remediation as well as documentation and success control of implemented measures
Preparation of investigation reports, expert opinions, and official documentation
Coordination with clients, authorities, laboratories, planners, and executing companies
Use of GIS and specialised data management systems for evaluation and documentation of environmentally relevant data
Participation in quotations, acquisition, and project controlling including cost, schedule, and performance control
Qualifications:
University degree BSc/MSc FH/ETH/University in geosciences, earth sciences, environmental sciences, or a comparable field
Several years of professional experience in contaminated sites, waste management, and soil protection
Sound knowledge of Swiss environmental legislation, especially AltlV, VVEA, and VBBo
Good knowledge of regional geology and experience with subsoil and pollutant investigations
Experience with historical and technical contaminated site investigations as well as waste law-related construction supervision
User knowledge in ArcGIS/QGIS, DC as well as specialised data management systems
Very good German language skills, spoken and written
