Research Associate in Electrical Engineering/High Voltage Technology (60%-100%)
University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, Institute of Electrical Power Engineering
Your tasks:
The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW is seeking a committed individual to strengthen the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering in the newly established research area of high voltage technology. In an interdisciplinary environment, you will work on current issues in the diagnostics of high voltage components as well as on the development of new insulation materials. In doing so, you will make an important contribution to shaping the future energy supply network. In this role, you will actively participate in national research collaborations and play a key role in developing the department.
This includes in particular:
- Carrying out service and research projects in the field of high voltage technology in cooperation with manufacturers and operators of equipment for electrical networks
- A diverse range of tasks from PC simulation to experimental validation in the laboratory
- Supervision of student projects and laboratory experiments in the field of high voltage technology
- Active involvement in the establishment of the High Voltage Technology department at FHNW and further development of the service portfolio
Your profile:
- You have a completed university degree in electrical engineering or a comparable field
- Knowledge in the field of high voltage technology and electrical systems from studies or industrial practice
- Practical experience in a high voltage laboratory is a great advantage
- Your working style is independent, structured and solution-oriented, and you enjoy taking responsibility
- You are motivated to engage with new issues, creatively shape and advance them, and work strongly in a team
- Interest in working in a scientific environment in close collaboration with industry
- Good communication skills in German or English
The position is initially limited until 31 December 2027 and can be extended if necessary.
