Due to the vacancy of the position, the Municipality of Saint-Imier is advertising the position of
Municipal Chancellor at 100%
At the head of the Municipal Chancellery, you hold a central role within the municipality. You advise the political authorities, ensure the link with the administration, and oversee the coordination and smooth functioning of municipal services.
Municipal Chancellor at 100%
Main tasks:
- Lead and supervise the activities of the Chancellery;
- Advise and support the Municipal Council in strategic, legal and organisational matters as well as support the municipal authorities in the exercise of their functions;
- Prepare the Municipal Council meetings, draft the minutes and ensure follow-up of decisions and actions arising;
- Ensure coordination and collaboration between municipal services and external partners;
- Manage internal and external communication of the Municipality;
- Organise and participate in public relations and institutional representation of the Municipality.
Profile sought:
- Qualification as a municipal administration executive, federal diploma as a specialist in public administration or willingness to undertake one of these trainings;
- Higher education (university, UAS/HEG) or experience deemed equivalent to the role;
- Proven experience in leadership and management;
- Excellent communication, negotiation and collaboration skills;
- Strong interest in public management and the development of Saint-Imier;
- Native French speaker or C1 level, and good knowledge of German (B2 level) an asset;
- Autonomy, sense of responsibility, initiative and ability to unite;
- Availability and flexibility, especially for occasional representation activities in the evening and at weekends.
