Junior Legal Counsel

The Junior Banking Legal Counsel supports the Bank's Legal Department by providing legal and regulatory within the team. The role offers broad exposure to Swiss banking law, regulatory developments, regulatory investigations, and strategic transformation projects within a dynamic banking environment.

Description

Key responsibilities:

• • Provide legal advice on Swiss banking, financial services, AML and regulatory matters, partnering closely with business and control functions.
  • Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of contractual documentation, including client agreements, outsourcing, IT, vendor and confidentiality agreements.
  • Handle requests from regulatory, judicial and administrative authorities, and support suspicious activity reporting (SAR/MROS filings), investigations and regulatory enquiries.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assist with the implementation of new regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Support litigation, sanctions, cross-border matters and strategic legal transformation initiatives.

Profile

The Successful Candidate:

• Possess a Master's degree in Swiss Law; Swiss Bar admission is a plus.
• < 2 years of experience in a Swiss law firm, private bank or regulated financial institution.
• Strong understanding of Swiss banking and financial regulations and the operational environment of financial institutions.
• Fluent French and English; German and/or Italian would be an asset.
• Analytical, pragmatic and detail-oriented professional with excellent judgement and discretion.
• Hands-on, proactive and solutions-oriented professional who enjoys working cross-functionally
