IMAD is a pioneering and reference institution in home care in the canton of Geneva. It provides care, support, prevention and health promotion services 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, to more than 18,000 patients of all ages, 25% of whom are under 65 years old.
With its 2,400 expert and committed collaborators, including more than 50 teams deployed throughout the canton, IMAD's mission is to meet the needs of the population and their wish to remain at home autonomously while preserving their quality of life during periods of temporary or prolonged fragility. It also helps to limit the length of hospital stays, facilitate the return home and relieve informal carers.
Social Worker / UMUS / 70% / Permanent Contract
The Mobile Social Emergency Unit (UMUS) , composed of nurses and social workers, intervenes in situations mainly related to violence and precariousness in coordination with the Geneva socio-health network.
The team works in pairs and operates from 5:00 pm to 8:00 am on weekdays and 24 hours a day on weekends and public holidays.
- Assess the nature of the request from a professional in the Geneva socio-health network and respond as quickly as possible or direct the situation to a more appropriate service
- Intervene and jointly conduct a socio-health assessment with the nurse, bringing social expertise to this analysis and developing short-term intervention plans, while ensuring compliance with legal limits in interventions
- Offer the client and their entourage means to reduce the intensity of the crisis or emergency felt; provide listening and support aimed at immediately restoring their balance and that of their entourage
- Produce a written report of each intervention, precisely detailing the assessment, services provided and the chosen direction
- Evaluate the process and relevance of the management of each intervention
- Participate in team meetings and supervisions outside intervention hours
- Actively participate in sessions with partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or equivalent qualification
- Ability to manage crisis situations
- Ease in mediation and ability to adopt an appropriate stance with various interlocutors
- Very good knowledge of the Geneva socio-health network
- Experience in the fields of exclusion, precariousness, care of minors or mental health would be an asset.
