The HEIG-VD is advertising the position of
Associate HES Professor in Building and District Energy
The Department of Industrial Technologies ( TIN ) trains engineers in the fields of energy, electronics, automation and industrial systems.
Its Energy Institute ( IE ) conducts applied research and development (R&D) projects in the field of energy transformation. From smart grids to power electronics, including industrial and building energy, we shape sustainable solutions for a more responsible world.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach engineering students at the Bachelor level in the HES "Energy and Environmental Technologies" programme and at the MSE Master level for the "Energy and Environment" specialisation
- Supervise diploma theses and student projects at various levels and contribute to the development of continuing education courses
- Develop and carry out applied research, development and service (R&D) activities in partnership with professional and academic environments in the field of building and district energy and related areas (building thermal physics, geothermal probes, building monitoring, etc.)
- Submit funding applications to obtain third-party funds to develop research activities (e.g. FOEN, Innosuisse)
- Participate in the activities of HEIG-VD and HES-SO in the field of expertise
DESIRED PROFILE
- Master’s degree in engineering or physics, a doctorate is an asset
- At least 5 years of professional experience, particularly in R&D projects in the field of building energy and related areas
- Interest in pedagogy, training and scientific and technical teaching
- Ability to develop R&D project activities in collaboration with industry and academic environments, including securing funding and team management
- Good knowledge of the local, regional and national industrial fabric, including specialised engineering offices
- Strong industrial and academic network, ability to develop it and contribute to the visibility of the Energy Institute
- Fluency in French and English, German is an asset
