Would you like to complete your psychiatric training in a versatile field where psychiatry, neurology and somatic medicine closely interact? At the Old Age Psychiatry department of the University Psychiatric Centre (UPZ) Bern, you will find a challenging and varied field of activity covering the entire spectrum of old age psychiatric disorders. The training position is recognised for the specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy as well as for the focus on old age psychiatry and old age psychotherapy; the training period can also be credited towards the focus on geriatrics. It is also suitable as an external year for general practitioners as well as for (re-)entrants from other specialties. With us, you benefit from first-class training and transparent salary policies. For a full-time position, the starting annual salary is CHF 94,185.- including the 13th monthly salary. Your commitment during training is rewarded annually with a 3% salary increase. Appropriate allowances are paid for irregular working hours. In addition, we support your professional development with CHF 4,800.- per year and 20 training days for a full-time position.
Your tasks
- You will learn the diagnosis and treatment of the entire spectrum of old age psychiatric disorders
- You will take on increasing responsibility in the treatment and support of our patients under specialist supervision
- You will work at the interface of psychiatry, neurology and somatic medicine
- You will carry out psychiatric and somatic assessments and develop individual treatment approaches
- You will work closely with various specialist disciplines and professional groups and actively contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration
- You will expand your knowledge of modern and scientifically based methods of diagnosis and therapy
- You will benefit from structured training in an academic environment
Your profile
- You have completed a medical degree recognised in Switzerland or have the corresponding approval (MEBEKO recognition)
- You are interested in old age psychiatry and the professional interfaces between psychiatry, neurology and somatic medicine
- You want to further your training in an academic environment in modern and scientifically based methods of diagnosis and therapy
- You enjoy interdisciplinary work, are flexible and appreciate collaboration with various specialist disciplines and professional groups
- You are proactive, take responsibility and demonstrate a proactive working style
- You have good oral and written German skills (level C1)
