We are looking for a Professional Fire Brigade Commander for our Site Protection service

Your mission:

• Under the authority of the Head of the Site Protection service, you are responsible for the leadership, organisation and smooth operation of the professional fire brigade as well as achieving the set objectives.
• You ensure the service’s capacity to provide, at all times, effective, professional rescue services adapted to the risks of the Monthey industrial park. You command the teams, their development and commitment around a shared vision, respecting legal, regulatory and organisational requirements.
• You are also responsible for the safety and health of your employees, the quality of services, proper resource management and continuous service improvement.

• Manage and organise the service to guarantee its operational capacity and quality of services.
• Command interventions and ensure the safety of responders and the public.
• Supervise, develop and unite teams, promoting autonomy, cohesion and performance.
• Plan and manage the human, material and financial resources of the service.
• Ensure communication and coordination with authorities, partners and actors in the rescue chain.
• Ensure compliance with standards, directives and legal requirements regarding safety, quality and conformity.
• Develop a culture of continuous improvement and anticipate the evolution of risks and needs of the industrial park.

• Training as a fire officer and the qualifications required to hold a command position.
• Proven experience in professional firefighting and operational command.
• Significant experience in team leadership and management.
• Strong skills in organisation, planning and resource management.
• Good knowledge of safety issues, risk management and population protection.
• Knowledge in administrative and financial management.
• Language skills in English and/or German.
• Good mastery of the legal, regulatory and normative framework applicable to firefighting activities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and representation skills.
• Natural leadership based on example, trust, decision-making and empowerment.
• Ability to make decisions in complex and high-pressure situations.
• A strong sense of responsibility, organisation and public service.
• High capacity for anticipation, analysis and change management.
• A unifying spirit and a real aptitude to develop your employees’ skills.
• A willingness to enhance your training through courses in Switzerland or Europe.
• Health and physical condition compliant with FSSP requirements and SUVA periodic performance tests, certified by an internal medical examination.
• A clean criminal record will be required for this position.
• Specificity of the role: the holder must reside or commit to residing within 30 minutes of the site. This is a position with on-call duty in accordance with current legislation.
