The University Centre for Prevention and Sports Medicine is the only university Swiss Olympic Medical Center in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. We offer individual examinations, advice, and care for people of all ages, regardless of health or training status. In addition to elite athletes, we also care for recreational and amateur athletes as well as patients with exercise-related complaints. We are the Swiss leader in outpatient sports medicine care. Every day, we care for more than 300 people with a wide range of sports and exercise medicine issues – from prevention and performance diagnostics to treatment and rehabilitation. Our offering is interprofessional and includes, besides the musculoskeletal focus, the areas of "Internal Medicine & Sports" including sports cardiology, "Women & Sports" as well as "Children & Sports". The close collaboration of these areas enables holistic sports medicine care at a high clinical and scientific level.
The position offers a versatile and dynamically developing field of activity at the interface of internal medicine, sports cardiology, musculoskeletal medicine, and paediatrics – integrated into sports and exercise medicine with a clear focus on elite sports, prevention, and rehabilitation. You will independently assume clinical responsibility while also having considerable scope to shape the further development of our sports medicine services.
You will work in an interdisciplinary medical team from various specialties and in close cooperation with other professional groups. Mutual support, collegial collaboration, and interprofessional treatment approaches characterise our clinical routine.

Senior Physician Sports and Exercise Medicine with Specialist Title in General Internal Medicine or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) (m/f/d) 80-100 %
Your Tasks
- Independent care of outpatient patients as well as recreational and elite athletes with sports and exercise medicine issues
- Conducting and evaluating sports and preventive medical diagnostics as well as conservative therapy – depending on professional profile with an internal medicine, sports cardiology and/or musculoskeletal focus
- Independent performance of diagnostic procedures, including sonographic diagnostics, according to qualification and area of activity
- Co-care of sports associations and clubs as well as – depending on area of deployment – athletes in daily training and competitions
- Active interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration within the centre and with adjacent specialist areas
- If interested, academic activity in research and teaching, including participation in our sports medicine research group, publication activities, and active participation in further training and congresses
Your Profile
- Specialist title in General Internal Medicine or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR), including MEBEKO recognition for diplomas obtained abroad
- Interdisciplinary focus on Sports and Exercise Medicine (SEMS) or equivalent foreign qualification – ideally already obtained or near completion
- Enjoyment of independent clinical work as well as interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration
- Interest in independent scientific work and in applying scientific evidence to clinical practice
- Several years of practical professional experience, ideally at least three years, at a recognised Swiss medical institution
- Experience in caring for sports associations, sports clubs or athletes
- Certificate of competence in musculoskeletal sonography (SGUM or equivalent qualification), especially with a musculoskeletal focus
- Experience in scientific work, teaching or publication activities
