This is what your daily work looks like

• At the heart: You take on the technical responsibility for the further development of our modern data platform. Together with your team, you develop and operate data products based on Databricks and ensure a sustainable, scalable, and future-proof data architecture.
• You actively shape our data modelling and contribute your expertise in Data Vault, Data Engineering, and modern Lakehouse architectures.
• You work closely with Product Owners, Team Coaches, System Architects, Tech Leads, and your team to ensure that architecture, implementation, and technological direction are optimally aligned.
• Together with the team, you ensure that our data products are operated not only functionally but also reliably, securely, and economically. This includes automated tests, monitoring, data quality mechanisms, CI/CD, as well as performance and cost optimisation on Databricks.
• As a coach, you support your team colleagues with technical questions and promote knowledge exchange.

This is what you bring with you

• You have at least 7 years of experience in Data Engineering and possess deep practical knowledge of modern data platforms such as Databricks as well as concepts of data modelling – especially Data Vault.
• You bring solid practical experience with dbt Core in conjunction with Databricks as well as in the development and operation of scalable data solutions in the Azure environment. You are confident in topics such as SQL, Python, Data Engineering, and Lakehouse architectures.
• Ideally, you have gained your experience in different companies or projects and bring best practices as well as new impulses for our data platform.
• You set technical guardrails, conduct architecture and code reviews, and support the team in implementing robust, maintainable, and testable data products.
• Complex issues motivate you. You analyse contexts in a structured way, develop sustainable solutions, and convince with your architectural thinking and a high quality standard.
• Even in demanding situations, you keep an overview, represent technical decisions confidently, and work in partnership with Product Owners, System Architects, and Tech Leads.
