As part of the Clinic for Consultation, Geriatric and Neuropsychiatry (Clinic Director Dr med Rafael Meyer), the Centre for Geriatric Psychiatry (management Kristine Ewert, Dr med Andrea Wälder and Susanne Spring) fulfils a valuable mission for the mental health of older people and their relatives with its services. It has four specialised wards as well as two outpatient clinics with Memory Clinics at the Aarau and Windisch locations. In addition to consultations and advisory services for relatives, the outpatient area includes the geriatric psychiatric consultation and liaison service for nursing homes. The centre is an SIWF-recognised training centre for psychiatry and psychotherapy, geriatric psychiatry, consultation and liaison psychiatry as well as general internal medicine.
Profile
- Physician with completed specialist training in psychiatry and psychotherapy
- Specialist title in geriatric psychiatry and psychotherapy or interest in this is an advantage
- Leadership and business management training advantageous (CAS level)
- Sense of responsibility, reliability, commitment and ability to work in a team
- Independent and efficient working style, high resilience and strong social skills
- Enjoyment of multiprofessional and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Interest in taking on specialist and line responsibility
- Foreign language skills advantageous
Tasks
- System and professional responsibility for the site with support from the superior position (Co-Centre Management Centre for Geriatric Psychiatry)
- Personnel management, concept development, patient-oriented process organisation
- Diagnosis and therapy within the framework of the standardised procedures of the interdisciplinary Memory Clinic (according to Swiss Memory Clinics Association standards)
- Treatment within the framework of specialised consultations according to professional geriatric psychiatric guidelines/recommendations (according to SGAP standards)
- Consultation and liaison activities in partner institutions
- Careful documentation of medical history including reporting
- Networking/communication with all involved parties (GP, hospital, long-term care institution, relatives)
- Participation in interdisciplinary meetings
- Appreciative collaboration in the multiprofessional and interdisciplinary team
- Participation in further and continuing education offerings, representative events and projects according to management specifications
