Job Description
We are looking, for the Technology Products/Services Directorate of the General Directorate of Digital and Information Systems (DGNSI), for a Data Scientist Engineer and Data Visualisation specialist.

Responsibilities
Main tasks:
- In collaboration with the entity's method and tools expert, determine, collect, prepare and manage the data necessary for the needs of the beneficiary entities
- Design and develop analytical and predictive models transforming data into actionable information to improve the administration's services and processes
- Drive, promote and communicate analytical results to maximise the value created by data and foster a data-driven culture.
- Ensure that analytical solutions are reliable, well documented, secure and compliant with the canton’s data governance and protection policies
- Contribute to the development of innovation and the promotion of a data and artificial intelligence culture within the cantonal administration
The role of on-the-job trainer for IT apprentices is included in this position

Qualifications
Profile sought:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or equivalent qualification
- Proven professional experience in developing analytical models and deploying ML/AI solutions
- Required technical skills: data transformation tools (Talend, ETL/ELT, etc...), Python (pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch), visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau)
- Strong experience in IT project management (Agile methodology)
- Analytical mindset with strong scientific rigour
- Excellent communication and simplification skills
- Demonstrate a spirit of mutual aid and collaboration
- Strong adaptability to understanding the public IT environment
- B2 level or equivalent in English
Specific on-call duties:
Technical on-call duty (standby) for incident resolution
Residence in Switzerland and Police clearance are required
