Role:

As a mechanic in the steelworks, you take on a central role regarding the technical availability and maintenance of the continuous casting plant. You are responsible for the mechanical care of the mould workshop, perform demanding service and repair work, and support production with technical optimisations and trials. Especially during the annual revision, you actively contribute your expertise and help ensure operational safety and plant availability with a reliable and solution-oriented working style.

Responsibilities:

• Carrying out service, maintenance, and repair work on the moulds of the continuous casting plant

• Independent organisation and management of the mould workshop

• Ensuring the proper preparation and technical readiness of the casting moulds

• Performing mechanical repair and maintenance work on the continuous casting plant

• Systematic analysis and rectification of mechanical faults

• Supporting the assurance of high plant availability and operational safety

• Participation in the annual summer revision in the steelworks

• Preparation, execution, and follow-up of mechanical work within the framework of revision planning

• Supporting production with demanding mechanical tasks

• Participation in technical improvement and optimisation measures

• Accompanying trials and technical tests in the production environment

• Identifying improvement potentials and contributing own solution proposals

• Proper documentation of relevant service and maintenance work

• Close cooperation with production, maintenance, and other technical departments

Qualifications:

• Completed technical basic training as a mechanic EFZ, agricultural machinery mechanic, or locksmith

• Completed further training as a technician HF

• Several years of professional experience in an industrial or construction-related environment

• Experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of plants is an advantage

• Strong technical understanding and enjoyment of demanding mechanical tasks

• Independent, proactive, and solution-oriented working style

• High personal responsibility and willingness to take responsibility for a technical area

• Resilient and flexible personality with a practical hands-on mentality

• Strong team spirit and reliable collaboration with various departments

• Good user knowledge of MS Office

• Willingness to act committedly and solution-oriented even in unplanned technical challenges

• Fluent German skills in spoken and written form

• Participation or takeover of parking space: free parking spaces
