Role:
As a KIS Application Manager, you take on the technical responsibility for a clinical information system (KIS). Doctors, nursing staff, and administration rely on it daily. If something goes wrong, you find the cause and initiate the solution. At the same time, you help shape how the system and clinical processes develop further. Your experience, analytical perspective, and ability to connect technology and medicine are crucial here.
Responsibilities:
You gather requirements from the specialist departments, formulate change requests, and coordinate their implementation with the manufacturer and other suppliers.
You systematically investigate disruptions in 2nd-level support and conduct technical root cause analyses.
Additionally, you monitor data flows to adjacent systems such as PACS, ERP, laboratory, and archiving.
You ensure the availability and performance of the KIS and take care of administration, configuration, and lifecycle management.
Furthermore, you are responsible for planning patches, updates, and rollouts including system and acceptance tests for a controlled go-live.
You also lead technical sub-projects, support key users, and keep system and operational documentation up to date in Confluence.
Qualifications:
You have at least 3 years of experience in application management of a KIS or a comparable healthcare solution.
A degree in business informatics or computer science at FH/HF level forms your basis, alternatively an equivalent qualification.
You understand exactly how performance recording, medical documentation, and patient administration interact.
You are familiar with clinical interfaces, ideally including practical experience with HL7, and you understand the integration of a KIS into its system landscape.
You master processes around release, change, problem, and incident management as well as requirements engineering and structured test planning.
Moreover, you excel in dialogue with clinical staff as well as suppliers, communicate fluently in German, and can easily read English manufacturer documentation.
