Job Description
Internship start: 1st February 2027
Duration: 6 months
Within the Research team, your main mission will be to define design guidelines to optimise the resistance of watches to accidental shocks.
The FEM watch head model will allow investigation and optimisation of concepts to ensure shock compliance. These investigations will range from the casing (absorbing architecture, shapes, materials, ...) to the movement (movement/casing fixings, robust bridge architecture, ...)
In this context, you will be responsible for:
- Evaluating parameters influencing acceleration
- Researching innovative solutions to absorb shocks through dynamic FEM simulations
- Implementing new guidelines on a prototype in terms of construction
- Conducting pendulum hammer tests and verifying the correlation of the FEM model
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree, you are attracted to the world of watchmaking
- You are specialising in numerical simulation of structures
- You master LS-DYNA (explicit) and are comfortable with CAD software (ideally Inventor)
- Ideally, you have knowledge of Python or Matlab
- You are fluent in French and have a good command of English
- Attentive, proactive and rigorous, you possess excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy teamwork
