Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for a specialist as Construction Manager Building Construction for the realisation of demanding construction projects in Central Switzerland. You will independently take responsibility for individual trades and accompany them from execution planning and awarding through construction execution to commissioning and acceptance. In doing so, you control quality, costs, deadlines, and occupational safety and coordinate subcontractors, specialist planners, and internal specialists. The position is suitable both for experienced construction managers and for qualified construction professionals who aspire to take the next step into independent construction management in the general contractor/total contractor environment.
Responsibilities:
Independent construction management and trade responsibility for demanding building construction projects from execution to commissioning
Technical and organisational leadership of assigned contractors and subcontractors on site
Creation, coordination, and ongoing monitoring of schedules and construction programmes as well as early control of deviations
Responsibility for meeting project objectives regarding quality, costs, deadlines, and occupational safety
Coordination of specialist planners, contractors, suppliers, and internal specialists as well as clarification of technical interfaces
Support and completion of the execution and design phase of the responsible trades including checking planning documents
Participation in tendering, offer comparison, awarding, and contract management for the services later managed independently
Conducting award and supplementary negotiations with contractors and suppliers
Leading construction and coordination meetings and ensuring structured pending and site management
Control of construction execution according to contracts, execution plans, SIA standards, and technical specifications
Optimisation of construction processes, logistics, and execution procedures to ensure efficient realisation
Coordination of commissioning, acceptance, and defect rectification until proper handover of the responsible trades
Qualifications:
Completed basic construction technical training with further education as Construction Manager HFP/HF, Technician HF, Construction Engineer FH/ETH, Architect FH/ETH or comparable qualification
Initial to several years of professional experience in construction management or execution of building construction projects in Switzerland
Knowledge in scheduling, contractor coordination, cost and quality control
Experience in tendering, awarding, and contract management is an advantage
Knowledge of relevant SIA standards and Swiss building regulations
Confident use of Microsoft 365, especially Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneDrive
Very good German language skills spoken and written
