Service Technician Grinding Machines (m/f/d)

Role:
As an international service technician, you will support highly precise surface and profile grinding machines directly at our customers worldwide. You will take on technical support from installation and commissioning through fault analysis and repairs to optimisations and modifications of existing systems. With your expertise in automation, control technology, and mechanics, you are an important interface between customers, the service organisation, and internal departments.
Responsibilities:
Carrying out service assignments on customer-specific grinding machines at international customers, mainly in Europe
Analysing and resolving technical faults on machines and systems
Performing repairs, maintenance, overhauls, and machine modifications
Setting up, commissioning, and conducting final acceptance tests on site at customers
Training and supporting customers in handling machines and controls
Sales and implementation of technical service offerings
Supporting customers via helpline and providing technical advice for spare parts service
Diagnosing and optimising control, drive, and regulation systems
Assisting with mechanical work and technical improvements on systems
Qualifications:
Completed basic electrical training as an automation technician, electronics technician, mechatronics technician or comparable qualification
Further training at Technician HF level is an advantage
Professional experience in PLC programming, drive and control technology
Good knowledge of industrial control systems, ideally Siemens SINUMERIK 840D
Interest and understanding of mechanical work in mechanical engineering
Good PC user skills as well as a strong quality and safety awareness
Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
Professional and customer-oriented manner in an international environment
High willingness to travel for worldwide assignments (approx. 80-90%, assignment duration 1-30 days)
Very good English skills for international customer support
Additional foreign language skills such as French or Italian are an advantage
Fluent German skills
