We are looking for our client specialised in the chemical industry, a Plastics Technologist - Extrusion (M/F).
Responsibilities
- Operate polymer processing equipment, mainly extrusion lines.
- Perform assembly, disassembly, cleaning and configuration changes of extruders.
- Adjust, monitor and optimise production parameters to ensure product quality.
- Handle and process polymers in various forms:
- plastic granules,
- melted materials (melt),
- polymer powders (PTFE and derivatives).
- Identify and resolve process deviations and technical issues related to equipment.
- Carry out necessary process controls, including Melt Flow Rate (MFR) measurements.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Technical Support teams.
- Ensure first-level maintenance and good condition of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental procedures.
- Document production parameters, tests and technical interventions.
Profile sought
Education
- CFC of Plastics Technologist, AFP complemented by solid experience, or equivalent diploma (Bac Pro Plastics, BTS Europlastic, BTS Plastics and Composites, etc.).
Experience
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in plastics processing, ideally in an extrusion environment.
- Practical experience in assembly, disassembly and adjustment of extruders.
- Experience in processing technical polymers appreciated.
Skills and knowledge
- Strong knowledge of plastic processing methods.
- Good command of extrusion technologies and machine parameters.
- Knowledge of polymers in granule, melt and powder forms.
- Ability to diagnose and solve production problems.
- Mastery of process controls, especially MFR.
- Good use of common IT tools (Word, Excel).
- Fluent French.
- Autonomous, rigorous person, field-oriented and problem-solving.
