The Buildings and Construction Service of the City of Sion manages and develops the municipality's built heritage. It is structured around several complementary sections: the administration and secretariat of the service, the public investigations and building control section, the buildings section dedicated to the maintenance and renovation of municipal properties, and the studies, projects and heritage section which designs and plans new developments.
The City of Sion is advertising a position for
Section Head of the Investigation Office at 80-100%
within the Buildings and Construction Service.
Main Responsibilities
Ensure the management and development of the Public Investigations and Building Permits Office, overseeing its smooth operation and team coordination. Support and monitor building permit files, ensuring their efficient processing and close coordination between various municipal and cantonal services. Ensure cross-functional approaches and promote smooth collaboration among different stakeholders to guarantee coherence, quality, and efficiency in the building permit process.
Employment Conditions
- Be a qualified HES architect, holder of a federal certificate of competence (CFC) as a building draughtsperson, or possess equivalent experience;
- Have several years of experience in the construction field, with proven experience in project management and team leadership;
- Possess good knowledge of construction law, architecture, urban planning, and heritage, as well as the application of current regulations;
- Be proficient with common IT tools and have an interest in digitalisation and process optimisation;
- Be a native French speaker with excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Demonstrate dynamism, good organisational skills, rigour, and diplomacy;
- Show analytical and synthesis skills as well as a sense of public service.

Salary
According to the City of Sion staff regulations and the Municipality’s salary scale.
