Head of Central Workshops Unit
Workplace: Martigny
Your mission:
As Head of the Central Workshops Unit, you ensure the operational, technical, and human management of a team of about 50 employees based in Martigny.
In this key position, you guarantee the overall management of the unit, from strategic planning to service delivery, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and deadline objectives agreed with internal and external partners.
You define the annual budget and workload plan, optimise resource organisation, and steer activities to ensure the efficiency and performance of the workshops. With a continuous improvement approach, you develop and optimise internal processes to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction.
You actively contribute to the modernisation of infrastructures, skills development, and strengthening the positioning of the Central Workshops as a reference player in the hydroelectric field. In your role as a manager within the Engineering and Solutions department, you contribute to the development of its strategy.
Your responsibilities:
- Ensure the operational, technical, and human management of the unit and its teams.
- Define the objectives, budget, and performance indicators of the unit.
- Plan and manage activities to guarantee the quality, costs, and deadlines of services.
- Develop services and contribute to the growth of the activity portfolio.
- Manage investments, infrastructure modernisation, and process digitalisation.
- Develop employees’ skills and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
Your skills:
- Engineering degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification, ideally complemented by management training.
- Proven experience in leading teams and managing industrial activities.
- Leadership, organisational skills, and ability to drive change.
- Strategic vision combined with a strong results orientation.
- Ease in relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Good command of ERP tools as well as planning and resource management processes.
- Native French or German speaker with good oral and written knowledge of the other language.
