As a first-tier supplier to our renowned business partner, Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz, we are immediately seeking a motivated and committed Polymechanic Prototype Construction CNC for a temporary assignment of 12 months, with the option to extend.
In this versatile position, you will actively contribute to the creation of innovative medical diagnostic devices. You bring your manufacturing expertise directly into the development process and bridge the gap between design and physical implementation. Using a modern machine infrastructure and advanced programming tools, you manufacture partly complex components for Roche prototypes. You take full responsibility for the tasks assigned to you – from production planning through execution to quality control. If suitable, there is also the possibility to become part of the in-house 3D printing specialist group. You will work within a globally established, innovative R&D organisation in an experienced specialist team. Collaboration is characterised by continuous professional exchange and mutual support, fostering the daily development of all team members.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Prototype construction & manufacturing: You produce precision parts for test setups, functional models, and prototypes – flexibly according to drawings, sketches, or in direct consultation with the development departments.
- CNC machining & CAM: You independently set up CNC machining centres (3-5 axes), operate them, and create NC programmes using CAM systems.
- Engineering support: You adapt series parts and manufacture special tools, clamping devices, and gauges for development.
- Design for Manufacturing: You advise developers and hardware engineers at Roche on manufacturing issues and actively support solution finding in terms of Design to Cost and Design to Manufacturing.
- Maintenance: You actively assist in the care and upkeep of the machine park.
Must-Haves
- Completed vocational training as a Polymechanic EFZ or an equivalent qualification in subtractive manufacturing (technical training)
- Solid practical experience (3-5 years) in independently setting up, operating, and programming CNC machines (using CAM)
- Proficient use of modern PC and software environments
- Fluent German language skills
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in 3D printing / additive manufacturing
- Familiarity with drawing standard ISO 8015
