Role:

On behalf of the client, we are looking for a Project Manager Construction / Site Manager Building Construction for the realisation of demanding new construction projects in the Zurich area. You will take operational responsibility for execution, costs, deadlines and quality and coordinate all contractors and project participants until successful handover. The focus is on professional execution control, tendering and awarding, scheduling and contractor management within a modern overall service environment. The position is suitable both for experienced site managers and for professionals with solid construction experience and appropriate further training who wish to gradually take on additional project responsibility.

Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for the execution of demanding building construction and new construction projects while adhering to defined cost, deadline and quality targets

• Leadership and coordination of contractors, suppliers and executing trades on site

• Creation, control and ongoing monitoring of construction programmes, schedules and execution stages

• Conducting tenders, offer comparisons and awards as well as preparation of the corresponding contracts

• Conducting contractor negotiations and handling of claims, additional cost requests and changes in scope

• Organisation and leadership of construction, contractor and coordination meetings including action item management

• Ongoing monitoring of construction costs, quantities, invoices, quality and construction progress

• Coordination of technical interfaces between planning and execution as well as early clarification of execution details

• Development and implementation of economic and execution-oriented solutions together with project management and planning team

• Ensuring compliance with relevant SIA standards, contracts, quality requirements and occupational safety regulations

• Conducting acceptances, defect management, commissioning and handovers as well as accompanying project completion

Qualifications:

• Completed construction or craft basic training, for example draftsman EFZ specialising in architecture, bricklayer EFZ or further training as foreman

• Ongoing or completed further training as Construction Manager HFP or certified Technician HF Construction Planning

• Professional experience in execution and/or site management of building construction projects; various levels of experience possible

• Knowledge of tendering, awarding, contracts, cost control and scheduling

• Knowledge of relevant SIA standards and Swiss construction processes

• Experience with common construction administration, scheduling and digital project management systems is an advantage

• Very good German language skills spoken and written
