The Clinic School department consists of 8 - 9 teachers for primary and secondary levels. The clinic school educates patients from four day-patient and inpatient wards of the Clinic for Children and Adolescents (UPKKJ) and the Youth Forensic Clinic (UPKF-J). Depending on the school level, subjects taught include German, Mathematics, French, English, Manual and Visual Arts, Music, and Career Guidance. In the clinic school, teachers work with pupils on individual goals according to their school level and current capacity. The tasks of the clinic teachers include, besides teaching, observations and corresponding reports and support plans for professional, personal, and social competence, assessment of previous schooling, collaboration with external school authorities, advice and recommendations regarding reintegration into an external school, and the organisation and support of this reintegration.

Your Tasks
- Educational, personnel, operational, and strategic management of the clinic school (55%)
- Teaching activity at primary or secondary level (45%)
- Budget responsibility
- Ensuring innovative school and teaching development in line with the challenges of daily clinic life and considering the developments and requirements of public schools in Northwestern Switzerland
- Collaboration with specialist offices and committees in the education sector of Northwestern Switzerland
- Quality management
- Close cooperation with the medical/psychological and social-pedagogical/nursing department heads, as well as participation in internal and external interdisciplinary conferences
- As a member of the UPKKJ department management team, you participate in relevant meetings and work in internal clinic working groups.
Your Competences
- Completed school leadership training at CAS level Northwestern Switzerland or willingness to complete it
- Teaching diploma at primary or secondary level and several years of teaching experience
- Several years of experience in a leadership position in the education sector
- You possess a high level of social competence and communicate clearly, professionally, and appropriately for the audience
- Several years of experience in the Swiss education and school system, interest in political processes, and enthusiasm for proactively optimising existing structures
- Enjoyment of teamwork in complex projects with diverse stakeholders; you are keen on shaping and supporting change processes and can motivate employees.
As school management, you report to the Educational Clinic Management of UPKKJ.
